Crocus ancyrensis, sometimes known as the Ankara crocus,[1] is a species of flowering plant in the genus Crocus of the family Iridaceae, endemic to North and central Turkey.[2]

The plant commonly flowers between the months of February to April at 1000–1600 m altitude. It commonly grows near rocks, bushes and pines. Rich in sugar and starch, it can be combined with onions to be eaten. It is a common staple in Anatolia.[citation needed]
