D. Nathan Sheets is an American economist and currently the Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs.[1] He was nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama on February 12, 2014, [2] The U.S. Senate confirmed him unanimously on September 18, 2014.[3] Before working at the U.S. Treasury , he worked as the Global Head of International Economics at Citigroup.[4] There, he produced economic commentary on current events, and the developing global economy.[5] Prior to his years at Citigroup, he worked at the Federal Reserve for 18 years, in many positions, which included serving for nearly 4 years as the Director of the Division of International Finance from September 2007, until August 2011.[6]
