D100 Radio is an Internet radio station broadcasting from One World Trade Center in New York City, which was established by Dylan C. in Orlando, Florida. D100 Radio broadcasts a Top 40 (CHR) format. D100 Radio also is home to many shows, including DJ Emporè.[1] D100 Radio broadcasts on the D100 App, various internet radio directories, and sound systems.
History
The radio station was established on a podcast platform, Spreaker. When D100 Radio launched, it published podcasts instead of broadcasting. D100 Radio continued to do so until March 2015.[2] On March 3, 2015, D100 Radio announced that the radio station will broadcast 24/7 on its own servers. D100 Radio then launched its first app on iOS and Android in May 2015. In April 2016, D100 Radio announced DVIP, a subscription service, but then terminated the project in May 2016.[3] The project is rumored to be re-opened, however there has been no official announcement from the station.
Annual Events
Every year, D100 Radio hosts two holiday events. In October, D100 Radio hosts the D100 Halloween Party,[4] featuring a new theme and music. The D100 Halloween Party 2016 featured an asylum theme, while 2015 featured a carnival theme. Secondly, November through January, D100 Radio hosts Light Up D100,[5] where the station plays holiday music in the programming. During the 2016 holiday season, the radio station is hosting Light Up D100 for the 3rd consecutive year.
