Dakkili is a village in Dakkili mandal, located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Dakkili is a Mandal headquarters for dakkili mandal. It contains 27 panchayths, 10 Mandal Parishat territorial constituencies and one Zilla Parishat Territorial constituency.

It is an arid place, entirely dependent on rainfall, which is stored in rural reservoirs named cheruvu. These reservoirs were built and maintained in Venkatagiri raja's and the great king Sri Krishna Devaraya period.

More than 20 km Telugu ganga canal passes through this mandal, which is another source of potable water in a few villages which is covering almost 30 to 35% of the mandal villages.

This mandal resides under venkatagiri constituency for Assembly Elections. A person from this mandal was elected as MLA from 2008 to 2013 and again he only won this context in 2014 elections.

When compared to other villages Dakkili is comparatively a small village. It came to limelight mainly because of Pilli Pulla Reddy (also known as Dakkili Pulla Reddy for outsiders). Mr Pulla Reddy at an young age became the sarpanch of Dakkili and orchestrated many development activities to bring Dakkili to limelight. At the early age he understood the importance of education and the benefits it can bring to the people of Dakkili and the surrounding villages. He donated his land and built a school and ran the school with his own money for couple of years to make it government recognized. He also a donated his land and built a BC hostel on the name of his nephew Late Dakkili Srihari Reddy for the poor students from the surrounding villages to have a accommodation and have three meals so that they can concentrate on studies and grow. He also donated his land to build a school for little kids (Anganavadi school) and is named after his mother Pilli Lakshmamma.

Mr Pulla Reddy was the architect in bringing the mandal headquarters to Dakkili. When the mandals were formed Dakkili was one of the backward mandal in Nellore District but in a short span of time has developed a lot. He was also instrumental in bringing a SC/ST residential school for girls and today the residential school has more than 500 girls.

Pilli Pulla Reddy passed away on September 14th 2016. With all his greet deeds Mr Pulla Reddy ever remains in the hearts of the people of Dakkili.

National Highway NH565 is passing through dakkili mandal which is connecting Tirupathi and Mumbai Highways via yerpedu, Venkatagiri and Penchalakona. This highway of length around 30 km is covered through dakkili mandal. It was developed in the year of 2015-2016.

The Devudu velampalli Village is famous in this mandal for the Lord Shiva temple situated here, which is also in the state tourism plan to attract more people as pilgrim place. In recent 2014 elections, Ramachandra Naidu was elected from this village as an ZPTC member.
