Damat Gürcü Halil Rifat Pasha

Damat Gürcü Halil Rifat Pasha, was born in 1795, in Georgia (country). As a child, he was adopted by Koca Hüsrev Mehmed Pasha. He later married his first wife Saliha Sultan. He was the Ambassador to Russia from 1829–1830, Kapudan Pasha from 1830–1832, 1843–1845, 1847–1848 and 1854–1855 and Governor-General of Anatolia from 1852. He was the paternal grandfather of Prince Sabahaddin, through his son Damat Mahmud Celaleddin Pasha with his second wife Ismet Khanum. He is also the Ancestor of Ziya Songülen. He died at Istanbul on 4 March 1856.
