The Darbar Festival is an Indian classical music festival that takes place annually on a weekend in London. It brings together musicians from the north Indian Hindustani and south Indian Carnatic classical traditions.

The festival

The festival has renowned artists like Ronu Majumdar, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, Pandit Ulhas Kasalkar, Kala Ramnath, Vidushi Prabha Atre, Aruna Sairam. Sudha Ragunathan, etc.

History

The Darbar Festival started in 2005 as a tribute to the energy, dedication and enthusiasm that Bhai Gurmit Singh Virdee (1937–2005) put into his Sikh faith and following his passions of photography, music and tabla. [1]
