Dawson's Cove
Appearance
Dawson's Cove is a small settlement, about 2 km away from a small outport community Hermitage. Located on the southern shore of Newfoundland, Dawson's cove is in Connaigre Bay — a finger-like projection of Newfoundland's Fortune Bay. The Post Office in Dawson's Cove closed on September 13, 1966. In 1956, Dawson's cove had a population of 142. Dawson's cove currently has an approximate population of around 60. Dawson's cove was renamed to "Sandyville", it was renamed back when there was no postal codes, this caused post offices to accidentally send mail and packages to "Dawson cove, Yukon".
