DeRionne P. Pollard, Ph.D. is the current president of Montgomery College.

Education

DeRionne Pollard earned a B.A. and M.A. in English from Iowa State University in 1993 and 1995.[1] She earned a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies in higher education from Loyola University Chicago.[2]

Controversy

Pollard has caused controversy at the institution she works at by some of her spending practices. [3] After a number of students[4] and faculty[5] at the institution requested an investigation, a local news organization uncovered some of the compensation practices that the college she is president of has been appropriating on her behalf.[6] These include 70,000 $USD[7] being spent on vacations to places like Napa Valley, California[8] and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The board of the university has currently no initiative to censure the president for her spending.[9]
