Defense of the Reich (German language: Reichsverteidigung) refers to the defensive aerial battles fought by the Luftwaffe over German occupied Europe and Nazi Germany itself during World War II. The daylight air struggles over Germany during World War II involved thousands of aircraft, dozens of units, and hundreds of aerial engagements to counter the Allied strategic bombing campaign.
