Delcroft School was built and opened in 1960. The school was built on the site of the Shisler truck farm. The old farm house and well were located at the corner of Hook Road and School Lane. Before the school was opened students from Delmar Village attended Folcroft Junior High School, grades k through 9, at the corner of Elmwood and Primos Avenues. Initially the Delcroft school contained grades K through 6th. Students then attended Folcroft Junior High School for grades 7 through 9 before attending Sharon Hill High School. The first principal was Miss Esther S. Kerns.
In 2008 and 2009, the school met the NCLB goal of AYP.
