Deutsche Pfandbriefbank

Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG is a German bank that specialises in real estate and public sector financing.[1] As of 2016, it is a constituent of the MDAX trading index of German mid-cap companies.[2] It is based in Unterschleißheim in Bayern, a suburb of Munich. Pfandbriefe is a German term for bonds issued in property financing.
The company was a part of Hypo Real Estate, which was nationalised by the German government during the 2008 financial crisis. It was spun off in 2015 under EU rules on state aid to banks.[3] It was rated by Moody's up to June 2015.[4]
