Digamarru is a village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh State, India. Here there is a famous Shiva temple. Shiva called UMA SOMESWARA SWAMY. Sivaratri festival is celebrated pompously. SriDevi Bhudevi Sahita Venu Gopla Swamy is also present here. The temple is combination of saivalayam and vaishnavalayam. Every year "Brahmotsavam" 5 day festival is celebrated from kamada ekadasi falls in the month of April-may. Ramalayam is also present here. Sriramanavami is celebrated with great devotion. Veerabadra Swamy temple is situated here.A sect of people worship Lord Veerabadra Swamy with immense love and faith. Veerabadhra Jatara is celebrated every year. People walk on red hot coal to express their immense faith in Lord. "Vanulamma Devi" is the demigod who safeguards the village from any disease and disaster. Jathara is celebrated every year with utmost prominence."Shoba Yatra" of Venu Gopala Swamy held very pious. Hanuma standing in front of Lord Venu Gopala Swamy chants his holy name always and enchanted.

In Digamarru there is another nice place called "Shivanandi Peta". The main attraction here is "Bala Vanayaka Swami" Temple (Lord Ganesh Temple). People do "Bhajanas" (Activities like singing devotional songs with traditional music) in Bala Vinayaka swami temple is famous for surrounding areas of Digamarru.

Geography

It is located at 16°29′30″N 81°42′55″E / 16.49167°N 81.71528°E / 16.49167; 81.71528.[2]

The village is also famous for another temple "Subrahmanyeswara swami temple" . Every year in December people celebrate "Subrahmanyeswara swami Shashti". On that day many people from nearby areas come to this place.

Occupation

The main occupation of people is Agriculture.Paddy is cultivated.Farmers also involve in Dairy products mainly Milk. As fresh water is available Aquaculture and pisciculture are major livelihood. There are also Hand looms and self employment.
