The Dirty Kanza is a gravel bicycle race held annually in summer in the Flint Hills of Kansas, starting and ending in the city of Emporia. In 2018, the race had 2,500 registered riders.[3] The race's organizers refer to the Dirty Kanza as the "World's Premiere Gravel Grinder"[4]
Course/Route
The Dirty Kanza consists of 5 different route options, the longest of which is the 350 mile Dirty Kanza XL, introduced in 2018.[5] Other options include the 200 mile Dirty Kanza 200, the 100 mile "Half Pint", the 50 mile "Lite", and the 25 mile "Community Fun Ride".[6] Some years have also included a race exclusively for high school students.[7]
