Dissociation is the sixth and final[2][3] studio album by American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan. It was released on October 14, 2016 by the group's independent label Party Smasher and distributed by Cooking Vinyl. The album was mixed by producer Josh Wilbur. Dissociation was revealed as The Dillinger Escape Plan's sixth and final album alongside guitarist and founding member Ben Weinman's announcement that the group was to "go out while we're still on top" following their tour cycle for the album.[2]
Background
In July, 2015, Ben Weinman announced during an Australian interview that the band will return to the studio in November to record the follow-up to their 2013 album One of Us Is the Killer.[4][5] In the following year, BBC Radio 1 premiered the band's new single "Limerent Death".[6] In a following interview with Noisey, Weinman announced that The Dillinger Escape Plan would be breaking up after the tour cycle for the upcoming album.[7]
