Formation
143 Medium Regiment was raised on 15th march 1981 at Raiwala. The first Commanding officer was Lieutenant Colonel SS Grewal.
History
During raising, the regt was equipped with 105 MM Fd guns. The War cry of the regt is “DURGE MATA KI JAI”

Achievement
In 2007 regt got the J & K Governor Citation for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra. The Regt has got Three Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card, Two Vice Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card, Twenty Seven General Officer Commanding in Chief Commendation Card.
