adjoe secured €100 million in funding in spring 2022 from Bertelsmann[1] (a media, services, and education company) and its parent company applike group. This funding is said to help adjoe propel the mobile adtech industry forward and help apps grow their user base and revenue.
History
[edit]adjoe was founded by Jonas Thiemann and Carlo Szenlinsky in 2018, as part of the applike group. Since its beginnings, adjoe has grown to over 100 people working in business, tech and marketing across its teams in Europe, North America and APAC.
The applike group was founded in 2015 by Thiemann and Szelinsky with the publishing house Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg. The applike group specializes in building products for app publishers that target app marketing, reach building, mobile games development, and automation. Five years after it was founded, the company was converted into a holding company that employs more than 300 people worldwide.
Sister companies to adjoe include justDice, justtrack, Sunday and Tabbler, which are also headquartered in Hamburg.
Since Bertelmann and applike’s investment in adjoe in 2022, adjoe has expanded its presence in the US[2] in January 2023 with its Boston office, and in spring 2024 with its Singapore office.
