Ahane National School, is small Catholic school located in Laught (More commonly known by locals as Ahane), Co. Limerick.[1] The school has roughly 150 pupils and are an active member in many competitions, activities in Ireland such as the ESB Science Blast, Irish Cross Country and many sports competitions.[2]
History
[edit]Sir Richard Bourke founded the school on his estate, Thornfields, Ahane in 1823.[3] In 2023 the school celebrated its bicentenary.
