Alex White is a footballer who has played at both professional and semi-professional levels in England and Scotland, mainly as a centre back. His current Club is Shildon AFC who play in the Ebac Northern League Division 1.

Alex started his career as a 12-14 year old youth player at Middlesborough FC. He was subsequently released and moved to Hartlepool United FC where he spent 4 years (also completing a 2 year scholarship). Whilst at Hartlepool United he won the Dallas Cup in 2003 with the under 19’s and finished 3rd in the Super Group in the same competition the following year, he played in the semi final against Brazilian side Club Athletico Paranaense. He also played in the Hartlepool United FC reserves side who won the Durham Challenge Cup in 2004/05.

Following his time at Hartlepool United FC, Alex signed for Gretna FC in the Scottish Championship and played in their under 19 and reserves sides before signing a new deal with them in the Scottish Premiership, susequently going out on loan to Stranraer FC in Scottish League 2. Following that spell both clubs came to a transfer agreement and he signed a permanent deal with Stranraer, winning promotion with them and playing 12 match’s in league 1 before moving to Blyth Spartans AFC. He made his debut against Blackburn Rovers FC in the 3rd round of the English FA Cup at Blythe's Croft Park, ultimately the tie was lost in a close 0-1 defeat in front of a crowd of 3,445.

In 2009 Alex signed for Ilkeston Town FC in the Conference North and finished the season in 7th position. He then moved onto Workington AFC in the Conference North, during this spell he went out on loan to Whitby Town FC in the Northern Premier league and ended up spending two more seasons there winning players player of the year, supporters player of the year and internet player of the year for 2011/12.

A move to Spennymoor Town FC followed winning the Northern League Division 1 title in 2012/13 and getting to the final of the Durham Challenge Cup which was lost 2-1 against Shildon AFC at the Central Avenue Stadium, Billingham.

Two and a half seasons at Jarrow Roofing Boldon Community Association Football Club in the Northern Leauge was followed by a season at Washington FC in the same league.

Alex then returned to Whitby Town FC for his second spell, spending two seasons with them before signing for Shildon AFC. During his first season a serious cruciate ligament injury and the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic severly limited his appearances resulting in him returning for the start of the 2021/22 season. He is spent four seasons with Shildon before announcing his retirement from football on the 11th May 2024.
