Production
[edit]On December 2015, Chuck and Karolina filmed in Mt. Misery Road, intended to be a humorous video. The next day that follows, the duo made more scenes for the film. Over a three-day period, the duo wrote a screenplay and started to string the scenes together. Post-production lasted for two years.[3] The film was filmed through an Android Galaxy 7 on a budget of just $2,500.[1]
Release
[edit]After the film was completed, the duo had trouble finding a distributor, until ITN Distribution picked up the rights for the film.[3] The film first premiered at the Horror Hotel Film Festival on May 31, 2018. The film was later released in the United States to DVD on May 7, 2019.[4]
Reception
[edit]Joe Lipsett of Bloody Disgusting panned the film, writing "Amityville: Mt. Misery Road...takes a bare bone narrative conceit and stretches it out to 70 minutes. This is a short that's billed itself as a feature".[5]
