Andrés de Guevara y Basoazábal (November 30, 1748 - 1801) was a Jesuit philosopher and writer from New Spain, noted for his Institutionum Elementarium Philosophiae (Elementary Institutions of Philosophy), a work aimed at young people. Novohispanos in order to show the possibility of mixing[1] enlightened ideas with religious convictions.[2]
De Guevara signed as presbyter guanaxuatensis his Institutionum Elementarium Philosophiae which he wrote in elegant Latin.
