The Asia Club is a student-run association at the University of St. Gallen that is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange, networking and academic collaboration among students with an interest in the cultures, economies and societies of Asia.[1] Established in 2013, [2] the club serves as a platform for students to discover, experience and connect with Asia.
Activities

[edit]The Asia Club organises informal gatherings, providing students with opportunities to interact and network in an informal setting. Among these are recurring events such as the Five Shades of Asia, where students come together to celebrate and share Asian cuisine. Additionally, the club offers a karaoke night once a semester, allowing students to engage in this Asian pastime while socialising.
Furthermore, the Club arranges visits to companies, offering students the opportunity to gain industry exposure and learn about business with a focus on Asia. Furthermore, the club hosts business workshops, which provide students with insight into a range of topics pertaining to Asian markets.
Asia Days
[edit]The Asia Days are the flagship event of the Asia Club. The three-day conference aims to facilitate discourse on contemporary topics related to the Asian market, politics and culture. Furthermore, the event seeks to provide insight into the continuously evolving business landscape of Asia.
The Asia Days has a long-standing tradition of welcoming prominent figures from a range of public and private sectors, including the ambassadors Dr. David Huang[3], H.E. I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, H.E. Yoshinori Fujiyama. The event is comprised of a series of workshops, networking events and panels, which may be attended either in person or virtually in a hybrid format.
Membership
[edit]The Asia Club is not provided with any formal funding by the university. Instead, it generates the funds required for the organisation of events and the running of the club through the payment of membership fees and the receipt of sponsorship.
Membership is open to all students, as well as visiting students at the University of St. Gallen.[4] Semester events are occasionally open to the public, with discounts for Club members.
