The Black Archives, History and Research Foundation of South Florida is an organization in Miami, Florida that was founded in 1977 by Dorothy Jenkins Fields.[1] It acquired, restored and operates the 1913 Lyric Theater, now the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater, at 819 NW 2nd Avenue in Miami's historic Overtown neighborhood.[2] The organization and its collection are housed at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex. It possesses one of the largest repositories for the history of Blacks in Miami-Dade County.[2]
