[edit]Breath Me is the debut studio single by South African singer Tyla. It was released on 22 March 2024 by FAX and Epic Records. Musically, Tyla blends elements of amapiano, pop, Afrobeats and R&B, and its lyrical themes include empowerment[1] and relationships[2]. And its official music video was released on September 3rd 2024 which got over 5 million views[3][4]. P
The "Breathe Me" visual, directed by Nabil, continues from where Tyla’s previous visual for "Truth or Dare". left off, taking viewers to a serene setting in Osaka, Japan[5]. It sees the singer and her love interest heading to their private karaoke room for a somewhat steamy session[6] that finds Tyla serenading her man[7].
Composition and chart performance
[edit]Tyla's song "Breathe Me" appears on her self-titled debut album, which reached number 24 on the Billboard 200 and number 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums[8]. "Breathe Me" is the fourth single from the album, following "Water," "Art," and "Truth or Dare".
