Biography[edit]

Catherine Avery is originally from Brooklyn, New York.[9] She graduated from New York University in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in finance.[9]

Prior to founding her own investment firm, Avery held the position of vice president at Morgan Stanley until 2003.[9][10]

In 2003, Avery joined Merrill Lynch, where she worked until 2006.[10]

In 2007, Avery founded her own investment firm in New Canaan, Connecticut, named Catherine Avery Investment Management.[10]
