Central de Reservas is a prominent Spanish online hotel booking platform,.[1] which began with modest funding from the sale of livestock, has grown into Spain's largest national hotel booking system. It offers a wide selection of over 2.5 million hotels worldwide.[2][3]

In 2022, Central de Reservas has been awarded the Innovative SME Seal by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The company was founded in 1998 by entrepreneur Ricardo Buil and Carlos Buetas with a vision to provide an easy and efficient way for travelers to book hotels online. Initially, the focus was on the Spanish market, but the success of the platform led to its expansion internationally.

In 2008, Ricardo Buil acquired 100% of the shares of Different Travel SLU. The platform offers a comprehensive hotel booking service, providing access to a vast range of accommodations. The platform is known for its user-friendly interface and competitive pricing, catering to a global customer base.[4]

Financial growth

The company has seen significant financial growth since its inception. In 2014, the company's turnover was 40 million euros. In 2015, the platform reported a revenue of €44 million, reflecting its strong position in the online travel industry.

To cater to a broader audience, Central de Reservas launched an international brand, Reserving This service is available in multiple languages, making it accessible to users from different countries.[5] Since 2013 it has 5 versions of the website (in English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese) operating under the international brand Reserving.

In 2014, it launched its mobile app to facilitate bookings and adapt to new times [6]

In 2019 the company has approximately 150 employees in: Spain, Andorra, Italy, Ireland, USA, Australia and Cuba.

According to Trustpilot reviews and ratings, Central de Reservas is valued by many travelers for its convenience and affordability, though there are some areas where customer satisfaction could be enhanced.[7]
