Dietmar Post was born on December 26, 1962 in Espelkamp (Germany). He is a film director and also runs a record label.

Biography

After school Dietmar Post became an offset printer in Bielefeld. Later he studied theater, film and television and Spanish philology in Berlin and Madrid. His first short film Bowl of Oatmeal emerged at New York University (SCE), and his second short film Cloven Hoofed premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2008. Post and his collaborator Lucía Palacios were the recipients of the most prestigious award in German television, the Grimme Prize, for their documentary Monks: The Transatlantic Feedback. Their films convey multiple perspectives on their subjects with in-depth interviews, allowing viewers to draw their own conclusions. Like many writers, labels and musicians, Post and Palacios release their films on their own film and music label.
