Dr. Haji Farid Bin Moh Onn is a linguist and writer from the country of Malaysia. He is a Lecturer in the fields of Linguistics at UKM. He is also well known for co-writing the 'Tatabahasa Dewan' with Nik Safiah Karim, Hashim Haji Musa and Abdul Hamid Mahmood.
Background
[edit]He was born on 7th of May 1939 in the town of Batu Pahat, Johor. He got primary Education at Sekolah Melayu Pintas Raya Batu Pahat, Sekolah Melayu Pintas Puding Batu Pahat, Sekolah Melayu Bandar Kluang and Sekolah Melayu Tanjung Semberung around the 1940s.[1]
He then continued his education at Singapore, at the Sekolah Melayu Geylang and at the Tanjung Rhu English Primary School until the end in 1954. He obtained his secondary education at Raffles Institution, Singapore until he completed his Cambridge School Certificate in 1958 and Higher School Certificate in 1960.[1]
He sadly died on 28th of April 2023.[2]
