Fire Spike is a 2D animated children's series produced by Lithuania-based company Bored Panda. Debuting on YouTube in 2022, the show centers on Fire Spike a.k.a. Spike, a five-year-old anthropomorphic dragon. Alongside his family, friends, and a cast of other animal characters, Spike's adventures explore the world through a child's perspective, tackling issues, questions, and dilemmas relevant to contemporary preschoolers.

Fire Spike’s episodes feature preschool children and adults who are characterized as animals and interact with each other in daily life. The show’s main character, Fire Spike or Spike as everyone calls him, is characterised by his bravery, eagerness to help others and curiosity about the world.
The green dragon lives with his dragon parents, Mummy and Daddy, a younger sister, Sparkle, and the youngest brother, Goo. Spike’s friends include Muddles (an Elephant), Poem (a Giraffe), Scratch (a Cat), Thunder and Storm (the Rhino twins). The children explore the world around them through creative roleplay, and embark on adventures in locations like Spike’s house, shopping mall, train station, and water park.
History
[edit]Bored Panda[1] was founded in 2009 by Tomas Banišauskas[2], a Vilnius University student in business administration. On November 3, 2022, the company registered a YouTube channel, Fire Spike. Their first video, "Where is Fire Spike’s Luggage Suitcase? - Dragon Stories" was uploaded on May 8, 2023.
In July, 2023, Fire Spike started publishing a mix of traditional nursery rhymes and original children's songs. On February 15, 2024, a Spanish language version of the channel, Fire Spike Español Latino, was launched.

[edit]- Fire Spike a.k.a. Spike, an adventurous green kid dragon, is the eldest of three dragon siblings. Always brave and eager to help others, Spike embodies both the virtues of his adventurous spirit and the challenges of impulsiveness and stubbornness that young children often face. When overcome with strong emotions like anger or excitement, Spike has the unique ability to puff smoke.
- Sparkle, a confident and opinionated younger dragon, is the middle child yearning for recognition. Despite her undeniable charm, often deployed through strategic hugs, Sparkle can struggle with competitiveness and selfishness, common challenges for middle children. While her emotions run deep, she is learning to manage them, evidenced by occasional meltdowns.
- Goo, the youngest sibling at just around one year old, is a source of joy and laughter for the family, though his hiccups can sometimes lead to fiery mishaps. While showered with love, Goo, like many toddlers, can experience jealousy and express his frustrations with strong cries.
- Mummy, the mother of Spike, Sparkle, and Goo, balances her role at home with her passion for cooking as a sous chef at a local restaurant. Renowned for her calmness and patience, Mummy encourages her children to explore new experiences and learn from setbacks.
- Daddy, the kind and loving father of the three dragons, brings a touch of clumsiness to the family dynamic. A car enthusiast and skilled mechanic, he enjoys tackling DIY projects and demonstrating self-reliance. Despite fire-breathing and flight abilities, Daddy prefers peaceful solutions and encourages his children to resolve their own conflicts.

- Poem (a Giraffe) is Spike and Sparkle's other best friend. An exceptionally smart and curious 4-year-old, Poem is known for her calm demeanor. She tackles problems with clever strategies and believes in open communication.
- Scratch (a Cat) is Spike's classmate from preschool. Energetic and attention-seeking, Scratch can sometimes tease others. He is known for his athleticism, often displaying his agility through running and climbing.
- Thunder & Storm (identical twin Rhinos) are mischievous friends of Scratch (a Cat). Known for their playful pranks, they can sometimes get into trouble. Physically strong, they support each other and behave well around authority figures.

[edit]- Detective Wolf (a Dog) is the town's security provider, known for his keen sense of smell and ability to find missing items and people. He is a reliable and rule-abiding dog who ensures everyone's safety.
- Prof. Roar (a Lion) is the Fire Spike family's neighbor, a brilliant scientist and inventor dedicated to creating a teleportation machine.
- Mr. Robins (a Racoon) is the show's mischievous raccoon. While unsuccessful in his attempts to steal, trick people, or lure children, Mr. Robins provides comedic conflict for the characters.

[edit]- Mr. Splash (an Elephant) is Muddle’s father. He is a brave and strong firefighter who also volunteers as a lifeguard, keeping the community safe both on land and in water.
- Mrs. Splash (an Elephant) is Muddle’s mother and a good friend of Mummy Dragon. A skilled chef, she owns a popular restaurant.
- Babble (an Elephant) is Muddle’s baby sister. While young and not a main character, Babble adores her brother Muddle and seeks his attention.
- Mr. Long (a Giraffe) and Mrs. Long (a Giraffe) are Poem's parents. Mr. Long, a man of many talents, works as a museum archaeologist, librarian, and guide, sharing his knowledge with others. Mrs. Long is a preschool teacher who enjoys nurturing young minds.
- Mr. Meow (a Cat) and Dr. Purr (a Cat) are Scratch's parents. Mr. Meow, divorced from Dr. Purr, is a TV show host and news anchor with a public persona. Dr. Purr is a dedicated doctor, veterinarian and dentist who prioritizes healthy living.
- Mr. Grunt (a Rhino) is Thunder & Storm’s father with a passion for travel. He works as a train conductor, ship captain, and pilot, often away due to his demanding jobs.
- Mr. Pop (an Octopus) is the ice cream seller and shop assistant.
- Mrs. Pops (an Octopus) is a hardworking cleaning lady who can hold eight items at once.
- Pop JR (an Octopus) is the son of Mr. Pop and Mrs. Pops. He is a reliable delivery boy.
