George Z. French was a state legislator in North Carolina. He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He was from a northern state. In 1895 he voted to fund a monument in Raleigh honoring Confederate veterans. In 1898 a rooe was put around his neck and he was chased from Wilmington. He was a Republican.[1]
