Greg Williams (born in 1961[1]) is an American entrepreneur, best known for his role as the Co-Founder, President, and CEO.[2] of Acrisure, a globally known insurance brokerage firm.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Greg Williams was born in Lansing, Michigan[1]. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University.
Career[edit]
After completing his education, Greg Williams began his career in the insurance industry. Williams was a Vice President for Michigan National Corporation (MNC), a $19 billion bank holding company[3]. In 2005, he then co-founded Acrisure, an insurance brokerage firm, with Rick Norris. Acrisure started as a small firm based in Caledonia, Michigan[4], and has since grown into a global insurance brokerage firms that's now present in 21 countries[5].
Under Williams' leadership, Acrisure has experienced growth through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions and has transformed the business to become an AI-powered Fintech company. Williams led in expanding Acrisure's operations globally and diversifying its range of insurance and risk management products and services[3].
Williams spearheaded the creation of Evolution Advisors, a joint venture focused on the insurance and financial services needs of minorities and diverse communities[3].
Personal Life[edit]
Greg Williams resides in Michigan, United States. Outside of his professional endeavors, he is involved in philanthropy and community development initiatives.
Along with Acrisure, Williams pledged to donate to 2 children's hospitals to improve their facilities and help make a difference on the patients' and families' lives. He's made partnerships with Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital to help the hospital's dedicated medical teams develop diagnostic capabilities and accelerate research initiatives related to genetics and improve outcomes derived from genomic advancements[6]. He's also partnered with UPMC Children's Hospital to support the construction of a new Heart Institute at UPMC Children's which will be home to the Acrisure Patient Unit[6].
Together with his wife, Dawn Williams, he donated $10M to the Tom Izzo Football Building in 2022[7] towards the expansion and renovation to the current Spartan Football facilities[8].
