Hen in the Foxhouse is an indie art pop band featuring former women's studies professor, Elena Krell (Kingston, NY, USA), formerly of the band "Elias Krell." They released their debut album, Look Up, on August 23, 2024, a collaboration with Ru Lemer (Bishop's Stortford, UK). Their songs take inspiration from social movements and justice, dreams, the natural world, and the absurd. Artwork is by Brian Grunert for White Bicycle designs in Buffalo, NY. Elena is the main songwriter, while Ru is the main song builder, and both co-produce. They met while recording As Eli, an album in Elena's former music project, Elias Krell, in Rhinebeck, NY. The band also has an EP out called Foxhouse & Violet, a collaboration with Manuel Quintana and Jem Violet.
