iHire is an industry-specific employment website that connects employers and job seekers across 57 talent communities.[1] Founded in 1999, iHire is headquartered in Frederick, Maryland,[2] with an office in Angola, Indiana.

Among iHire’s industry-focused talent communities are iHireDental, iHireConstruction, iHireVeterinary, and WorkInSports, which the company acquired in 2021.[3][4]

History[edit]

iHire was founded in 1999 by entrepreneur David MacFadyen in Angola, Indiana, as four websites for hiring workers in the construction, legal, therapy, and accounting industries.[5]

The company received several recognitions from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for promoting good employee health in the workplace notably in 2015 & 2016.[6][7][8]

In 2019, iHire marked its 20th year in the online recruitment industry and released the first of its annual State of Online Recruiting reports which stemmed from a survey of employers.[9][10]

In 2021, following 3 years of consecutive revenue growth, iHire gained a spot on Inc. Media's list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in America.[11]

In 2023, iHire earned a spot on Inc. magazine's annual List of Best Workplaces.[12][13][14]
