[edit]IMI was founded in 1980 in the United States by a group of Muslim medical professionals who wanted to provide humanitarian medical aid and relief to underprivileged and disaster-affected communities around the world.The organization was initially established to provide medical care and relief to communities in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia that were facing conflicts, natural disasters, and lack of access to healthcare.Over the years, IMI has expanded its operations and presence globally, establishing chapters and networks of volunteers in over 40 countries, including Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
