Jed MacKay (born November 24, 1983) is a Canadian comic book writer. He is best known for his work with the characters Black Cat, Doctor Strange, and Moon Knight at Marvel Comics. He also wrote the longest-running Magic the Gathering comic book series.
Career[edit]
MacKay first collaborated with artist Sheldon Vella in an online comics-making community. When Vella got some freelance work for Marvel Comics, he invited MacKay to pen his scripts. MacKay continued to freelance write for Marvel. After penning the origin story of Spider-Punk, MacKay began to get more work from Marvel starting with the Daredevil miniseries Man Without Fear,[1] which was soon followed by his first ongoing series Black Cat.[2]
MacKay started to pick up critical acclaim with his next ongoing series, Moon Knight.[3][4] Most recently, MacKay has started his run on The Avengers.[5]
Awards[edit]
MacKay, with artist C. F. Villa, was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2023 for his issue Mary Jane & Black Cat: Beyond.[6]
