Jens Vilhelm Brixtofte (born 14 August 1956) is a Danish businessman and singer from Odense. He was the winner of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 1982 with the band Brixx with the song "Video Video".[1]
Career
[edit]Brixtofte's professional career began in 1975, when he and his group MKT won Ekstra Bladet's record opportunity with the song "Come Along To Barbados". The prize was a Recording contract. During the 1970s, the group released several English-language songs, with their final song, "Op og ståwas", becoming a summer hit in 1980. The band, MKT, re-emerged as Brixx, best known for winning Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1982[2] In 1998, a compilation album titled "Come Along To Barbados" was released and contained songs from both Brixx and MKT. It was published under the name Brixtofte.[3]
In 1982 Brixtofte decided to end his music career and further his education. He earned a Master of Science in Merchandising. He ran for the regional election in 2017 for the Social Democrats, but was not elected.
Personal life
[edit]Jens Brixtofte played hockey for Gladsaxe from 1972 to 1974.[4] He is the brother of the former Farum, Denmark mayor and Tax Minister of Denmark Peter Brixtofte.
