The Jinju Kang Clan is a Korean noble family and one of five Kang clans, originating in Jinju, a city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Most members of the clan are descended from Kang I-sik.

The clan's Hanja is 姜, which is Jiāng in China. There are rumours that the Jinju Kang is descended form Shennong, an ancient chinese deity and the inventor of many things including herbalism. Shennong is often portrayed as having horns and being a god, but it is likely that he was a human being who was metaphorically portrayed in such ways to make the legend more mystical.

Jinju Kang Family Association[edit]

The clan has an organization which manages their historical records and holds meetings. This organization was founded in 1959. The current president of the association is Kang Jong-gyu.[1]
