Jorge Ibraín Tortoza Cruz (Venezuela - Caracas, Venezuela 11 April 2002) was a Venezuelan cameraman and journalist. Tortoza was one of the victims of the Llaguno Overpass events during the 2002 coup d'état attempt in Venezuela.
Biography
[edit]Tortoza had worked in the judicial police's photo lab. He had worked at Diario 2001 for eleven years.
Death
[edit]Tortoza was covering a protest called by opposition against Hugo Chavez in the context of the 2002 coup attempt in Venezuela, while there were clashes between government supporters and opponents in the surroundings of the Miraflores Palace. Tortoza was shot dead from Llaguno Overpass while covering the events.
