Brief Overview
[edit]Kamari started out as a passion project blending art rock with eastern music jazz fusion, but their music grew to be more like a ‘feeling’ that everyone can tailor to their soul and experiences. Kamari's focus is on channeling something that's rooted in today's personal and societal problems while creating a safe but chaotic atmosphere that can be best described with the word “charmolypi[1]”.

Hirstory
[edit]Kamari was formed in 2023 by singer-songwriter Dana Bus after finishing Constellations[2] with Vincent Naga Smith. The two first met in 2021 with the aim to form an acoustic duo but sensing a rare synch in musicality they started pursuing their career by each other’s side. Dana first got invited in Vincent's band Mervom as the main vocalist and lyricist.
It took about a year to have the idea of Kamari’s music and image drawn out in the band leader’s head, but it wasn’t until june 2023 that the members started actively working on songs. They previously stated that it was mainly to find the purpose of the newly forming group, sense its’ worldview and know the message they would want to convey.
Music
[edit]Their music draws inspiration from various music genres, focusing on the overall headspace and emotional aspect of a song, rather than the style itself. Often mentioning their group as a "mixture of everything" the members come from different musical backgrounds, such as soul, jazz, classical or metal.
When it comes to lyrics, Kamari often scratches the taboos and takes interest in the human mind and experiences. While the concepts often come from personal backgrounds, the songs leave room for different perspectives and complex situations.
"When you think of any emotion, it can't really be described solely as one feeling in black and white as so many other factors play a part too. This is why most of the times the root emotion is something vaguely different from the final reaction to a situation."[3]
Discography
[edit]Kamari finished their debute EP called 1:1 in january of 2024 and started the recording phase in their studio, releasing it on 11th April 2024 alongside a videoclip for „I am (everywhere)”. Shortly after the official release the band appeared in british and spanish radios.
