During the first phase of the Second Boer War, both sides engaged in more traditional warfare, with trenches and pitched battles. This would last until August 1900, after the British occupied most of the Z.A.R and O.V.S.
After that, the Boers would engage in more Guerilla tactics, such as ambushes and train raids.
