Parsel is a community of ideas founded by Kaan F. N., which started in 2017 with the aim of "Libertarian Movement". Its historical process consists of three different attempts. The first two were disbanded at the very beginning for various reasons. The last one in 2020 fell short of the target, but is still active today. It is estimated that it currently has 10-15 members.

Basic Doctrines[edit]

  1. Libertarianism: Argues that individuals should have maximum freedom. It argues that living beings should be left as free as possible to direct their own lives and make their own choices. It argues that state intervention should be minimal and that the main task of the state is to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals.
  2. Trivialism: Argues that not all claims in the universe can be clearly called true or false. Truth and falsehood are intertwined and cannot be separated. Individuals prefer to attribute one or the other to these claims due to the society, time, geography, climate, religion, ethics, etc. they live in. But this does not change the absolute truth. For this reason, it is meaningless to have a value, a sacred or a tradition. They restrict one's freedom, steal one's time and drain one's energy that could be devoted to other things.
  3. Libertarian Utilitarianism: Utilitarianism holds that the rightness or wrongness of an action depends on whether the consequences of that action are beneficial or harmful to people. It is a remedy to the idea of trivialism and can contradict libertarianism at various points. But Libertarian Utilitarianism accepts utilitarianism only if it leads to freedom. Because if the individual's freedoms are protected (freedom to live, freedom to have wealth, freedom to get an education, etc.) and an even freer point can be reached individually and socially, this is considered positive and there is no problem in accepting it.
  4. The Problem of Value: Human freedom must be defended for a high quality of life, but this does not mean that it is deserved or valuable. No living being has innate rights. In the natural world there is no low or high value and freedom, there are laws and cycles of life. The fact that man has overcome the problems created by nature does not change this fact. Not every idea is defended because it is true or right.
  5. Friendship, Order and Expertise: The way to be free is for everyone to specialize in their field. The members of the parsel do not deny each other what they can do, their knowledge and expertise. They strive to improve each other at every opportunity. This is the biggest key to individual and community success.

Meaning of Parsel[edit]

Inspired by the lyrics of the traditional Turkish song "Nem Kaldı[1]". The song starts with the following lyrics: "Parsel, parsel eylemişler dünyayı. Bir dikili taştan gayrı nem kaldı.". Parsel means a specific section of land, territory or property. It talks about the world being divided into pieces and only monuments being left. Those pieces are the "parsel"s. The aim is to own and develop one of the thousands of “parsel”s. The correct usage is all lower case. It is not written with "P" except at the beginning of sentences, it is written with "p". The usage for the Latin alphabet is "parsel".
