Punchup is an American comedy platform that launched in late 2023 and was founded by former Meta employees Danny Frenkel and Alex Dajani. [1] Acting as a store front for comedians the aim is to use data, gathered from the site, to help comedians to make decisions. Each comedian has a home page, allowing them to promote their upcoming gigs which are searchable via a "show nearby" search box.
It is designed to be a "safe space" for comedy - where comedians are not dealing with the threat of de-monetization or of having an algorithm bury their content.[2]
