The Schamrock – Festival of Women Poets (German: Schamrock – Festival der Dichterinnen) is the only international festival for women poets.[1] In 2012, the festival took place for the first time in Munich and has been continued every two years ever since. At the suggestion of Friederike Mayröcker, there has also been a regular Schamrock Festival day in Vienna since 2014. Occasionally, Schamrock Festival days also took place in Bamberg At the invitation of Nora Gomringer, Schamrock Festival days have also been taking place at the International Artists' House Villa Concordia in Bamberg. In the years between the main festivals, a film festival and other events like the Schamrock Parlour of Women Poets (Schamrock-Salon der Dichterinnen) take place in Munich and Vienna on a regular basis.
