Sherif Beshara is an Egyptian native who currently serves as the Group CEO of the Dubai-based Mohammad & Obaid AlMulla Group. He is also the CEO of American Hospital Dubai, the flagship division of the group.[1][2][3][4]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Sherif Beshara was born to an Egyptian family in Egypt. After completing his schooling, Beshara enrolled at the University to study law. He graduated with a master's degree in International Law.[4]
Early Career
[edit]Prior to his current roles, Sherif Beshara served as legal counsel for Barclays from March 2006 to October 2010. He then held the position of Head of Legal for Air Arabia from October 2010 to October 2017.[5]
Present Career
[edit]Since joining the Mohammad & Obaid AlMulla Group in 2017, Beshara has played a key role in its growth and success. He was appointed Group CEO in 2018, overseeing the group's healthcare, travel and tourism, hospitality, and real estate portfolio. Under Beshara's leadership, the Group's Hospitality division, Ishraq Hospitality, has expanded its presence across the Middle East region. Notably, Ishraq Hospitality announced plans to establish new Holiday Inn properties in Egypt and Oman. Additionally, the division signed a Hospitality Management Agreement (HMA) with Rekan Group in July 2023 to manage a Crowne Plaza Hotel in Batumi, Georgia.[4]
American Hospital Dubai, under Beshara's guidance, has achieved significant healthcare innovations, particularly in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The hospital was the first in the country to install the 4th generation DaVinci Robotic System and the ROSA Knee System. Moreover, it became the first private healthcare entity outside the US to earn the accreditation of the Robotic Surgery Centre of Excellence. Beshara also facilitated a partnership with Cerner in 2020 to launch the region's first Artificial Intelligence research center at American Hospital Dubai.[6]
Notable Accomplishments
[edit]Sherif Beshara's notable achievements include consecutive rankings among Forbes' Top CEOs of the Middle East in 2021 and 2022. He has also been selected consecutively for Forbes' The Middle East's Top 50 Healthcare Leaders 2022 and The Middle East's Top 100 Healthcare Leaders 2023. Additionally, he was recognized among the top CEOs of the region by the UK-based CEO Today magazine. Beshara is also a member of Legal 500 Middle East 2016-2017.
