Penny Olivia Parker (born August 20, 1998) is an American voice actress, musician, comedienne, illustrator, streamer and YouTuber. She created the YouTube channel SnapCube in 2016 to host her Let's Play videos. She is best known for the improvised web series SnapCube's Real-Time Fandub, in which she and her friends dub over video game cutscenes.[2]

Parker releases music as an independent artist, and is also the vocalist of the independent band Go! Child with her friend Ryan Mitchum.

Career

[edit]

Parker began making videos at a young age, from animations to sketch comedy. From 2013 onwards, she placed herself firmly in the realm of voice acting, video games and song covers.[citation needed]

In 2016, she created the channel SnapCube to focus on video game Let's Plays.

SnapCube's Real-Time Fandub

[edit]

SnapCube's Real-Time Fandub is an improvised gag dub series where a group of voice actors try to guess the dialogue of video game cutscenes and dub over them. The series began on June 8, 2018 as a spin-off of the show Real-Time Fandub created by voice actor Charley Marlowe, which she had participated in as a voice actress just two years earlier.[3] The show is famed for its humorous dubs of Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Riders.

Diego Arguello of Inverse describes SRTF as "a comedic pressure cooker, creating wonderfully unexpected results".[2] Madeline Carpou from The Mary Sue calls the show "hilarious and worthy of exploration".[4]

Personal life

[edit]

Parker is currently dating fellow creator and voice actress Joy Charlotte.[5] They both reside in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a trans woman.[3]
