[edit]

Mariano Arruda also known as "SquishyMuffinz" is now a Canadian content creator with over one million subscribers on YouTube specializing in Rocket League, a vehicle soccer video game. Before transitioning into being only a content creator, he was a professional Rocket League player, known for his strategic gameplay and mechanical skills. SquishyMuffinz has since gained a significant following in the gaming community.

Professional Career

[edit]

In November 2016, SquishyMuffinz, along with two other Rocket League players, Lachinio and Torment, formed the team Iris to compete in Season 3 of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS). After Iris failed to achieve the desired success, SquishyMuffinz, Torment, and former substitute Gimmick formed a new team called The Muffin Men, quickly finding success by winning DreamHack Atlanta. Following this victory, they were signed by the top esports organization Cloud9, securing 1st place in the RLCS Season 4 North American Regionals. In RLCS Season 6, Cloud9 lost their initial match and were sent to the losers' side of the bracket. There, they dominated, ultimately defeating Dignitas in the Grand Finals to become the RLCS Season 6 World Champions. In 2020 SquishyMuffinz joined the organization NRG. "SquishyMuffinz  played alongside teammates, Garrett “GarrettG” Gordon and Justin “Jstn” Morales"[2], where they won two RLCS majors together. Squishy is now retired as a professional player and "On July 11th, 2024, Squishy returns to Cloud9 as both content creator and co-owner."[3]
