Jonathan Tay Palatema known by his stage name Tay Pala Tema is a Zambian artist specializing in dancehall, reggae, and afro beats He is also the founder of Tulo Music, an independent music label. Palatema was born on January 5, 1990, in Lusaka, Zambia, to Given and Bahati Palatema.

Biography

Following the success of his debut song, Pala Tema continued to release music, rapidly gaining popularity not only in Zambia, but also internationally. One of his breakthrough hits, "Show me," solidified his position in the music industry. Notably, he contributed to the album "AIM (Above In A Minute)" by the Tanzanian duo Navy Kenzo.

Pala Tema's music is recognized for its distinctive fusion of dancehall, reggae, and afro beats, influenced by his upbringing in Zambia, and his experiences in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania.

Currently, Jonathan Palatema resides in the United States, and holds citizen of both Zambia and America. He remains an active performer, with ongoing work on new music and music videos set for release in the near future.

Early life

Pala tema spent his formative years in Lusaka, Zambia, where his parents greatly influenced his music career. Despite initially focusing on football, his interest in music burgeoned when his father purchased his first piano. He began producing beats and composing music, eventually recording his inaugural song,"Dar es Salaam", produced by Killa Beats at K Amy Music in 2009.

Tulo Music

Pala Tema established Tulo Music Inc to create a platform for emerging artists not only in Zambia but also across Africa. The label is dedicated to promoting authentic African music, with a particular emphasis on dancehall, reggae, and afro beats.

Through Tulo Music, Palatema aspires to give back to the community by offering opportunities for talented artists to showcase their music on a global scale.
