Draft:Tertiary attraction

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tertiary or non-rose attraction is an umbrella term to describe forms of attraction outside sexual and romantic attraction.[1]

Some common types of tertiary attraction are platonic, queerplatonic, aesthetic, and alterous.

Origin of the term[edit]

The word "tertiary", meaning roughly "third" (since it's after sexuality and romanticism), is sometimes criticized for being used to describe these forms of attractions, since it would imply that romantic and sexual attraction are the default.[citation needed]

Another common term to refer to this is non-rose, which was originated from picking the first syllable from the words "romantic" and "sexual".[citation needed]
