Xhemati Alban (Arabic: جماعة الألبان) is a small Sunni Albanian jihadi militant group composed of ethnic Albanian fighters from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and the Presheva valley which operates in the Syrian civil war in Idlib Governorate/North Aleppo.[2]

History[edit]

Xhemati Alban claims to have been established in 2012, but reports suggest that the group only started operations in 2017. The group is headed by Abu Qatada al-Albani (Abdul Jashari).[3]
