Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI) is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of thermometers and portable test and measurement instrumentation. ETI supplies catering, industrial, HVAC, refrigeration thermometers and environmental monitoring instruments to various industries, including food services and production, and chemical, pharmaceutical and construction.

History

The company was founded in 1983 in Worthing, West Sussex on the south coast of England.[1] It started as a specialised, small company providing thermometers to the catering industry. ETI was one of the first UK companies to develop a range of digital thermometers specifically designed for food, manufacturing and many other industries.[citation needed] The company has been privately owned since inception.[2] Today,[when?] Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd has two factories (40,000 sq. ft.) and over 50 distributors around the world.[citation needed] The United States is ETI's largest export market.[citation needed]

ETI has been granted The Queen's Award for Industry for International Trade three times: in 2012,[3] 2014,[4] and 2017.[5]

Impact and scope

Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd is the UK's largest digital thermometer and temperature probe manufacturer.[citation needed]

As of April 2017, the Worthing factory is accredited for a number of equipment calibration activities.[6]
