Eli Tene (born May 1, 1963) is an influential Israeli-American businessman and community leader;[1] and a co-founder, co-managing director and principal of the Peak Corporate Network of real estate entities. He is a co-founder, former co-Chairman and current member of the Israeli Leadership Council, currently called the Israeli American Leadership Council (IAC)[2] [3] and a board member of the Western Region of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.

Career

Emigrating to Los Angeles from Tel Aviv, Israel in 1986 to study at California State University - Northridge, Eli Tene soon became involved in California’s active real estate market, specializing initially in the area of residential and commercial short sale transactions.[4] Through one such transaction in 1990, Tene met Gil Priel, a local real estate investor specializing in private equity and acquisitions, and in 1991, they joined to form Peak Financial Partners, Inc. Originally this company focused on short sale transactions and other aspects of debt restructuring of real estate holdings, and on short-term finance. Without losing this initial focus on distressed real estate, over the next two decades the partners' real estate services were built up by either the formation or acquisition of eleven separate businesses. In combination they provided a wide range of property-related services for a varied clientele in all types of real estate transactions. In 2011, the separate entities were together re-branded the “Peak Corporate Network,” under which banner each provides a different basket of real estate services.[5] Tene has been called upon to share his knowledge on a television news show[6] and syndicated financial radio broadcasts including “Talking Money,” and has shared his experience and opinions as a panelist in conferences and seminars nationwide. In July of 2011, Eli Tene was cited as one of “100 Influential Israeli Americans” by Ynet, the online outlet for Yediot Ahronot, Israel’s second largest daily newspaper.[1]

Community involvement

Pursuing his charitable interests and his continuing personal and business ties with the country of Israel, Eli Tene co-founded and co-chaired the Israeli Leadership Council in 2007.[2] The ILC (currently called the Israeli American Leadership Council) is a non-profit philanthropic organization of American-Israeli business people and others, dedicated to encouraging giving to strengthen Israeli and Israeli-American relations, communities and organizations. Tene played a key role in growing and strengthening the ILC (IAC) until stepping down as co-Chair in 2012. He remains an engaged supporter and member of the IAC organization. In 2013, Eli Tene joined the board of the Western Region of the FIDF organization Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.[7][8]

Tene’s philanthropic contributions also include such organizations as B’nai-B’rith and From L.A. With Love.
